Hey, my name is Cheyenne Koch and I joined the ministry staff at Southland as Director of Student Ministries (students 7-12th grades) about four years ago. My wife Elyssa and I come from an education background in the public schools where I taught high school for 11 years, and she continues to teach at Sharpe Elementary. Southland is Elyssa’s home church, so we consider you all family!
The Lord has always given me a love for teens and I want to help them grow spiritually as they navigate the transition from childhood to adulthood. Our purpose in the SBTyouth Ministry is to help teens embrace the Good News of Jesus, equip students to grow in their faith, and challenge our youth to engage the culture.
I want to say a special thank you to all who graciously gave to sponsor teens attending our upcoming Disciple Now Weekend (March 3-4). Please continue to pray for all the students at Southland, and join us in asking the Lord to raise up laborers to be sent out into the harvest:
“But when He saw the multitudes, Jesus was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith He unto His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest.’” Matthew 9:36-38
I would also appreciate your prayers as I continue working on my seminary degree through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have now completed exactly half of my M.T.S. course requirements, which focuses on Preaching and Pastoral Ministry. Elyssa and I will celebrate 15 years of marriage in August; we have two beautiful daughters, Adalynn and Kinley.
We appreciate your prayer and support!
