I’m considering getting involved in a Bible study class.  What would you recommend?

One of the best ways to make connections, grow relationships, and be challenged in God’s Word is through Bible Fellowship.  Classes are offered on Sundays at 9:30 a.m.  To learn more about the variety of Bible Fellowship classes offered, click here. In addition, our Women’s Ministry and Men’s Ministry provide a host of small group Bible studies throughout the week.

What opportunities do you offer for children?

The SBTkidz Ministry at Southland offers childcare for infants and older in a secure facility.  All our childcare workers receive a background check before working with us.  Children and parents are given matching badges that are checked when leaving the facilities.  Kindergartners and children in grades 1-5 can enjoy dynamic Bible studies and large group fellowship featuring music, videos, crafts, and much more through our Kidz Worship ministry. I know getting involved in ministry is important at Southland, but I don’t know where to start.
​What are my options?

You might think, “Southland is full of people who help as volunteers.  There’s so much going on—they don’t need me.”  Nothing could be further from the truth.  We need you!  There is a place for everyone at Southland.  Service plays a major role, not only in the health of the church, but in your life as well. The greatest way to grow in your faith is to serve!  To learn about our ministries and volunteer opportunities, start here.

Where is Southland located?

Southland is located on Temple Drive between Husbands Road and Yarbro Lane.  We have a visitor's parking lot directly in front of our front entrance especially for you.

I would like to become a member of Southland.  What should I do?

Present yourself as a candidate for membership during the invitation of any Worship Service.  At the close of each Worship Service, our pastor will extend an invitation for you to come forward.  You will be greeted by an alter counselor who will guide you.

Express your desire for membership by:

• Profession of Faith - If you will receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow Him in baptism by immersion, we will welcome you into our fellowship. Your membership will become effective after you are baptized.
• Transfer of Letter - As a member in good standing of another church with Baptist doctrine, should God direct you here, we will be pleased to welcome you into our church family. We will take care of the appropriate details to transfer your membership.
• Statement of Faith - If you know in your heart that you have a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ, have followed Him in baptism by immersion, and desire to be a member of Southland we will be happy to receive you. If you were once a member of a Baptist church or your records are not available, we will accept your statement of faith for membership.
• Baptism - If you have received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, but you have not yet followed Him in baptism by immersion in another church with Baptist doctrine, then we welcome you into our fellowship. Your membership will become effective after you are baptized.
